Arts Council

Are you interested in anything ARTS-related?

Do you love to act/draw/paint/sing/perform?

Do you want to see the Arts celebrated at TWIN?

Then this announcement is for you.

Come and be a part of this year's Arts Council.

The Arts Council organizes Arts events that happen in our school.

We meet every Monday at lunch, in room 229.

Today is our executive election day. 

Everyone is welcome to attend.

 Athletic Council

Athletic Council Members or Sports Fan supporters…There will be an athletic council meeting today outside of the main gyms to talk about score keeping and cheering on your teams this week.  We need fans in the stands and volunteers at the table.  New members are welcome!  Many hands make light work! See you at 10:50.   

Girls Basketball
 

This past weekend your Junior Girls Basketball team travelled to Midland to play in a preseason bball tournament.  Your T-birds tipped off against a strong Nouvelle Alliance team with many club players while it was not meant to be have no worry… your girls team pulled up their socks and won the next 3 games against Georgian Bay District, Barrie North and St. Theresa’s.  The girls worked extremely hard and there were many teachable moments and amazing buckets.  Next up in girls basketball action…your senior girls team tips off tonight against Unity Christian in the Thunderdome at 3:30.  Admission is free and bring the NOISE!!!

Cross Country
 

Cross country runners are reminded of their late practice today after school at 4:00 pm, morning practice tomorrow at 7:00 am, and practice Wednesday after school at 2:30 pm. Race at Sunnidale Park on Thursday.

Last Thursday the cross country running team traveled to Wasaga Beach for the first race of the season. The coaches are extremely proud of the athletes who stepped out of their comfort zone and tried their first race in high school.

Congratulations go to the Sr. Boys team that placed 2nd overall with Jacob in 4th, Nathaniel  in 5th, Erik in 16th and Lachlan in 65th.

The Sr Girls "A" team fought hard for a 4th place finish with Elle Waite in 14th, Willow in 27th, Sydney in 30th followed by Hazel in 31st. The Sr Girls "B" team was 8th lead by Hailey  with Jorja, Kylie, and Sophie.

Finally, in the Novice girl race, Avery had an outstanding finish of 13th!

Coaches are really looking forward to watching each runner improve as they continue to practice and work hard in their training.

 

Attention Grade 12’s

Anyone interested in attending the Trent University presentation, please report to the large seminar room of the library at 8:15.

Outers Club
   

Outers club members who have passed the swim test and are in grade 11 or 12 and have some canoeing experience, or younger students who have overnight canoe tripped before are invited to attend the Fall Overnight Canoe Trip to Killarney Provincial park this Friday.   permission forms are available  from Mrs. Hendry in the gym office and need to be picked up today.  17 spots on a first come, first serve basis, 

Forms and money are due for all no later than 11am Wednesday of this week.

Forms and money are required to secure your spot. 

Trip participants will meet in room 225 for their entire lunch hour on Wednesday and Thursday to pack up the group equipment and personal gear.

    Young Knowledge Keepers    

Young Knowledge Keepers will be returning this Thursday at lunch in room 220. First Nations, Metis, Inuit and ally's welcomed to come learn and share teachings through an indigenous lens. Miigwetch
