 Athletes of the Month

Good Morning Twin Lakes…..It is time to recognize our Athletes of the Month for May.  These athletes may possess leadership qualities, next level play, ability to see the game, show determination or are just incredibly COACHABLE!  Today we would like to announce May’s winners…..

Congratulations to Kai Elford for rugby and Gracie Yakeley for soccer and track and field.

The Rugby coaches commend "Cobra" Kai Elford for his tenacity, willingness, intelligence, and indomitable spirit that have all galvanized him into an outstanding rugby player. Cobra Kai paradoxically was one of the slightest players on the pitch, and yet it would take three players to stop his momentum. He weaves many of the technical aspects of Rugby, fluidly and superbly in such a manner that other coaches have noticed. His leadership illuminates on and off the pitch. Way to go Cobra!

The soccer coaches tell us that Gracie Yakeley had the best offensive season probably of all time at TLSS for both girls or boys soccer.  She scored 8 impressive goals in regular season and was outstanding in the playoffs even when asked to play midfield after being the striker all season.  Gracie is a delight to coach and was appreciative of those who helped her, a true team player and gutsy performer. She also qualified for OFSAA Regionals in high jump and finished 6th. Way to go Gracie!

If you see Kai and Gracie today...be sure to congratulate them.

Would both student athletes please report to the gymnasium between period 1 and 2 for a quick photo.

Best of luck to Nathaniel as he heads off to OFSAA Track this week. GO TWIN!!!

Please come and join us and show your support to the 2SLGBTQ+ community! Hope to see you there dressed in your “All about my faves” outfits!
